Terms and Conditions for Clients booking massage services through Fitch Therapies (trading as Origin Massage, Sheffield Wellness Centre, Bumps and Births).

Please take the time to read through this information carefully. Bumps and Births, Origin Massage and The Sheffield Wellness Centre are all part of the FITCH Therapies partnership.

Please note that by making or booking an appointment with Bumps and Births, Sheffield Wellness Centre or Origin Massage, you also agree to attend the appointment you have booked and these terms and conditions. All massages and treatments take place at Origin, within The Sheffield Wellness Centre, on Abbeydale Road.

APPOINTMENTS

You can make an appointment via our website booking system with Fresha. If this presents an accessibility issue, appointments can be made by telephone, text, whatsapp or email.

Appointments are available for 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on the treatment chosen. 

Upon making a booking online through Fresha payment will be taken. Payment can not be taken on the day or after an appointment. You will receive an email confirming the booking with all the important details including how to find us, where to park and how to access the building, you will also receive an SMS reminder about the appointment. If you are late because you can not find the venue your appointment will still have to finish on time. 

Please complete all pre screening questions requested prior to the massage, if this has not been done you will be required to log in and complete the questions before your appointment, or the appointment can not go ahead. Your appointment will still need to finish on time. 

Please check spam folders or save our email address to ensure communications get through.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers have an expiry of 6 months from the date of purchase. This may be extended in individual circumstances but is at your therapist's discretion to do so. Please ensure any gift voucher is used in a timely fashion to prevent disappointment. Cancellation policies apply to bookings made by voucher.

Currently gift vouchers need booking directly with Origin Massage. Please message relax@originmassage.co.uk with your preferred therapist, date, time, massage type, voucher reference code, email and phone number.

LOCATION

Origin Massage is located within the Sheffield Wellness Centre which is part of The Old Coach House group of businesses. We are tucked away so please take time to familiarise yourself with where you are going. 

We have signage for the Sheffield Wellness Centre which is street facing on the gate in between Abbey Carpet Shop and Ruffles and Lace (opposite the Abbey Hand Car Wash) enter the gennel between the two shops (using the gate code provided by your booking if necessary) and come up the steps to your left, Origin is the first door, the waiting room for the Sheffield wellness centre is in the middle. Please come into Origin and await your therapist. 

Please allow plenty of time to find us, park and arrive at your appointment to avoid missing out on therapeutic time.

CANCELLATIONS & LATE ARRIVALS

Cancellation Policy: Strict 24 hour policy.

Sometimes life gets in the way of keeping an appointment. If you need to cancel your massage appointment and you wish not to be billed for the appointment, you must notify us within 24 hours of your appointment time. You can manage your appointment through Fresha.

If less than a 24 hour notice is provided, you will be billed for 50% of your massage fee. Clients who do not show up for their appointment and do not notify us in advance will be billed the full massage fee. Emergency cancellations are determined at the discretion of Origin Massage.

A pregnancy massage which is missed due to the baby arriving or onset of labour can be used for a post natal massage.

Any cancellation fee will be deducted from the payment already made to secure the booking. A refund of 50% will be issued automatically. 

For bookings made by gift voucher, 50% of the gift voucher value will be retained and 50% can be used towards another booking.

LATE ARRIVALS: It is important that our agreed appointment time and duration is adhered to. It is your responsibility to arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time so the massage can start promptly. If you arrive earlier the doors may not be open so please await your therapist.

We appreciate that sometimes, things happen, and you may arrive a little later or need to leave a bit earlier than planned. This is fine, but we cannot make up the missed time by overrunning or adding time to subsequent appointments. If you arrive more than half way after your appointment time the appointment will not be able to go ahead and you will be charged for the full fee.

Termination

Massage services will be terminated immediately if a client makes any sexual advances or requests, including inappropriate conversation and touch. If the therapist feels uncomfortable and unable to continue the session, they will end it, whether or not the client understands why. Massage therapy is therapeutic in nature and any interactions and communications must remain professional. If the massage is terminated for the above-mentioned reasons, payment is still required.

A session will not be conducted if the client is intoxicated, using drugs, or threatening the safety of the massage therapist, the safety of others in the building, or themselves.

A session which is terminated for any of these reasons will result in the client being blocked from making any future bookings.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All client information and clinical records will be safeguarded by FITCH Therapies and will remain confidential. Unless required to do so by law, we will not otherwise share, sell or distribute any of the information you provide to us without your consent.

Consultations and client treatment details will not be discussed with anyone other than the client, unless the client is under the age of 18 or has a care worker or guardian.

In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we employ security measures to protect your information from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We have also put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We will retain your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires.

Each practitioner under Origin, Bumps and Births and the Sheffield Wellness Centre, will have access to these records only for the duration of their work with us, and solely for the purpose of providing you with the most appropriate treatment.

HEALTH & SAFETY

All practitioners at Bumps and Births, Sheffield Wellness Centre and Origin Massage are qualified, hold a current First Aid certificate, and hold professional and public indemnity insurance, for the services that they provide.

Due to the nature of massage and the need for close contact, all practitioners will maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and clients are asked to ensure that they also maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.

If a practitioner is unwell, suffering from a cold or virus, infection or general ill health, they will not be allowed to work due to the risks of cross contamination. This may result in us contacting you to inform you of the issue at the earliest opportunity to make suitable alternative arrangements.

Clients are asked not to attend for a massage if they are unwell, suffering from a cold or virus, infection or general ill health. Please contact us at the earliest opportunity to rearrange your appointment. If you are unwell and contact us to inform us of your illness, please note that our Cancellation Policy may still apply.

Bumps and Births and Origin Massage, including the practitioners, will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of personal items during your time at the Sheffield Wellness Centre.

Clients under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This parent or guardian must give permission for the agreed massage plan to be performed, and will be requested to co-sign the New Client Consultation Form. They will be invited to stay in the room for the duration of the appointment, and expected to remain present throughout the treatment.

Bumps and Births and Origin Massage holds the right to refuse any treatment if a client is physically or verbally abusive towards any practitioner, or demonstrates inappropriate, aggressive or sexual behaviour. Such behaviour may result in a partial or total ban from Bumps and Births and Origin Massage, and may also result in criminal proceedings.

COVID-19

We require clients to fill in a medical form including a Covid pre screening form to confirm the following:

  • The client has not been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days, to the best of their knowledge
  • The client has not had any symptoms:
    • a recent onset of a new, continuous cough
    • a high temperature (typically over 37.8℃)
    • a loss of, or change in, normal sense of smell and / or taste
  • Should the client contract the virus, or be contacted by the Track & Trace service and advised to self-isolate, they must inform Bumps and Births and Origin Massage as soon as possible
  • Depending upon the timing, Bumps and Births and Origin Massage will need to contact the practitioner and may need to contact other clients possibly affected, and to self-isolate

DISCLAIMER

Bumps and Births and Origin Massage provide massage therapy and bodywork in a variety of forms, but none of these bodywork modalities are a substitute for professional medical care or counselling. None of the practitioners will diagnose, prescribe medication or medical treatment of any kind, unless they are personally qualified to do so, and will always recommend referral to a GP or other qualified medical specialist or practitioner.

The client has a duty to provide accurate and true medical and personal information, to the best of their knowledge, and to keep us up to date with details of any medication, symptoms, medical concerns or treatments they are having investigated or undergoing treatment for.

All practitioners may refuse to treat any client or part of their body with just and reasonable cause. We reserve the right to terminate any appointment at any time if they believe that it is not safe or in the client’s best interest to continue. Likewise, the client has the right to refuse, modify or terminate treatment at any time, regardless of prior consent given. Payment of the treatment will be retained regardless of client termination of treatment.

CLIENT DISCLAIMER

You, as the client, understand that the massage received is provided for the basic purpose of relaxation and relief of muscular tension. If any pain or discomfort is experienced during this session, you will immediately inform the therapist so that the pressure and/or strokes may be adjusted to your level of comfort. It is further understood that massage should not be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment and that you should see a physician, chiropractor or other qualified medical specialist for any mental or physical ailment that you are aware of. It is understood that massage therapists are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat any physical or mental illness, and that nothing said in the course of the session given should be construed as such. Because massage should not be performed under certain medical conditions, you affirm that you have stated all known medical conditions and answered all questions honestly. It is agreed to keep the therapist updated as to any changes in my medical profile and you understand that there shall be no liability on the therapist’s part should you fail to do so.
