Giving birth is one of the most physically and mentally demanding experiences a person can go through. To help you on your journey of recovery one of our specialist post-natal massages could be what you need.
A Swedish massage is a full body massage and is a great way to let go of stress and to unwind. With this can then also come the added benefit of helping you sleep better, among many other possible benefits.
A deep tissue massage therapy session works on the muscles and connective tissue at a deeper level and can assist in bringing relief to muscle soreness as well as speed up recovery for aches, pains and injuries.
The smooth black volcanic stones are heated and smoothed over you skin and worked into muscles in this wonderfully calming and deeply relaxing treatment that can help to reduce muscle tension and pain.
The soothing sweeping strokes in and Indian Head Massage will focus on your shoulders, neck, face and scalp and can help to ease away stresses and strains, aches and pains.
Tui Na is a Chinese style of deep tissue massage that translates as “pinch and pull” which helps to get rid of blockages or imbalances that are believed to lead to pain and illness.
Reiki is an energy healing technique where the practitioner helps energise and balance the energy of the person they are working with. This therapy can be a wonderful way to relax.

I came to Fi as a first timer to massage and I'll definitely be coming back soon! She was really good at explaining things and clearly knows her stuff. In addition to an excellent massage that loosened up my tight shoulders she also helped loosen my tight injured back up. Fi gave me some good tips and advice on where to seek further help to avoid injuring myself again which I really appreciated. I walked away very happy with my experience and couldn't recommend her more!

Had a deep tissue massage with Erzsebet. Felt brand new when she had finished, so relaxed and refreshed. The space is beautiful, lovely and quiet. Perfect place for a massage. There was a misunderstanding with myself and Fi called explained and I was able to book an Indian head massage. No issues on Fi's part. I'm actually glad it happened because I get to go and have some self care again. Recommend for a lovely massage and to forget your troubles.

Your general massage questions answered

Do you have a question about massage therapy? We’ve put together a list of our most frequently asked questions about massage therapy below and you can also find more information about specific therapies on the individual massage treatment pages.
Origin Massage is in South Sheffield, in the Nether Edge area of the city. You will find us on Abbeydale Road and we are ready to help you relax and unwind.

First of all know that nearly everyone has something about their body which they feel a little self conscious about. Secondly, your massage therapist absolutely does not mind about what you might mind about.

That said they will treat any concerns you have with sympathy and compassion. Some things might be important to know about in order to give you an appropriate and safe massage, but this should be picked up with any health pre screening.

If you would prefer the massage therapist does not touch an area of your body at all, please just say, this is not a problem at all.

Some people can find massage so relaxing that they do fall asleep, especially pregnant and post natal people! This is always a great compliment to the therapist, however if you fall asleep right at the start of the massage, your therapist may gently wake you so you can enjoy the rest of the session.

Natural bodily responses to massage can include vocalising as stress and tension releases and expulsions of wind or drool. Your therapist knows this can happen and takes every sign of relaxation as a positive one. As the rooms are stripped, cleaned and sanitised between clients, you can rest assured your signs of relaxation will not cause an issue for anyone.

We have an online booking system where you can select the massage therapist you would like to work with and see their treatments and availability or you can select the massage style you would like and then select the massage therapist and date and time that is available.
Whole body relaxation can sometimes lead to signs of arousal, which, while perfectly normal should be kept privately to yourself. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but our therapists are working in a professional therapeutic environment which does not include sex work.
If you feel you need a bathroom break, simply let your therapist know and they can pause the massage. No bother at all.

Sometimes natural conversation flows at the start of a massage which then fades as the relaxation deepens, however there is no expectation that you must chat throughout.

You are most welcome to talk if you need to and certainly for some deep tissue techniques the therapist will be checking in with you about depth, pressure and comfort. But if you would prefer not to chat – you don’t have to.

This varies from person to person and will depend on what is important to you. You might want to ask where they trained and when they qualified, their insurance details, what kind of massage they do and how they will accommodate your individual needs.

Your massage therapist should check in with you regarding pressure to give you the opportunity to ask for more or less pressure. They should also be checking non verbal signals such a signs of relaxation, breath holding, flinching or giggling.

Please do feel free to simply say you need more or less pressure, your massage therapist will love this feedback.

For your comfort and to avoid over heating, you will be advised to undress to your underwear. You will be draped with towels and plenty of coverings for modesty and warmth. If undressing is posing a problem for your massage please speak with your therapist prior to your session.

We are registered with professional governing bodies but we don’t pay to be listed on the directory Massage Me UK.
